Craft Room

I've been promising the craft room reveal since May. I feel like I've been talking it up the same way TV stations talk up their fall season premier shows. Frankly, I find it annoying to have to see the same commercials all summer so by the time September rolls around I don't even want to see the show. Therefore, without further ado, I present to you my new craft room....

craft room, craft space, stamping retreat, storage ideas, Artur table, Ikea table, Ikea bookshelf
Ikea Expedit bookshelf, Arthur table legs, Vika tabletop, Hemnes dresser

Ok, keep in mind that it's still not "perfect" and is a work in progress, but since I have a place for the basic essintial it's oficially considered open. For those of you in town - come by and visit!

craft room, stamp storage, paper storage, bookshelf, Ikea Expedit Bookshelf

And no, I didn't copy the design out of the IKEA catalog, although you have to look closely to find the things that are not sold by them :) Heck, it's cheap and it all matches, so it's perfect for a room like this. The only problem is that they're changing their catalogs faster than I can make up my mind on some of this stuff, so I'm still missing a shelf and a few other things that are no longer sold in store. Thank goodness for Craigslist and Ebay.

The curtains I made myself and I still have one wall where I need to decide if I should frame some patterned fabric as art, or setup a shelf to display my layouts. I'm taking suggestions.

  1. Oh, WOW!! I love your room! It's so clean and white and just ready for some paperflying good times. I like your punch holder...wish I had an IKEA close (never been to one); also love your marker holder. As well as a bunch of other things you have. Thanks for sharing a fantastic room ready for fun.

  3. Hi Olga! Thanks so much for visiting my blog and also for leaving such sweet comments on my notebooks on SCS. Although I've been making tons of cards and projects, I haven't scrap booked in a year, and I really need to get back into it. Those pictures are really starting to pile up. One reason is I got a job, my first paid, outside of the home job in twenty years, so thats taking up all my time, and my daughter is getting married...more time, and I became a designer for a digital challenge blog...more time, so little time is left for scrapbooking. Now onto your craft room, I'm so jealous! My craft room is a little hole in my basement, thats actually a closet, where I carved a little space for myself. I love how clean, neat, and modern your room is. And how well organized. I have stuff piled everywhere in my room. I do plan on having a new craft room after my daughter is married next year. She is getting married in our home, and we need the room that will be serving the food in to be empty for now, but after the wedding the transformation to a craft room will begin! I saved the pics of your craft room in my computer for inspiration. Have a great day!

  5. This is amazing. There's serious drool going on over here. I wish I were "in town" so I could stop by. I really love the soft blue wall color and the combo of light and dark furniture.

  6. Olga your room is simply amazing!! I wish we had an Ikea nearby. I had to drive 4+ hours just to get the base to my desk and that was all that we could fit in the car! So jealous of you all that have one nearby.

What a great room to get crafty in!
