Party Cows Card

Every time I reach for The Whole Herd stamp set from My Favorite Things, I end up using the cow image and the "Let's party 'til the cows come home" sentiment. I like the other images too, but this is my favorite one.  I did the same thing on this card, which is based on the MFTWSC296 sketch.

It's a quick card with just white, insulation pink and black colors. The background is sponged using the Cow Print stencil. The images are colored with Copics and adhered with foam for extra dimension.

Thanks for stopping by.

Half Days and Happy Hours

Instead of a card this week I wanted to share a little notepad cover. The Bellarific challenge this week was to use paper piercing technique. Both of the dresses on the image are cut out from patterned paper. For some extra pizzas I added jewelry with liquid pearls and glasses are covered in Glossy Accents. I've accumulated a number of funny wine and drinking related stamps and this one from Unity seemed the most fitting here: "Life needs more half days and happy hours."

I initially made it as a gift, but then had to make another one so I could keep one myself :).

Party 'Till The Cows Come Home

The Whole Herd stamp set form My Favorite Things is adorable. I love both the images and the sentiments that go with it. For this week's MFTWSC269 Sketch Challenge I used the cow image with the corresponding "Let's Party 'Till the Cows Come Home" sentiment. I used a masking technique to position multiple cows behind each other. This card is also for the Simon Says Anything Goes Wednesday challenge.

Mojo Bella Seniorita Millicent in Colored Pencils

A quick MojoBella card this week for Bellarific Friday challenge. I've been practicing coloring with my Prismacolor pencils recently. Unfortunately I was out of gamsol so the image looks a little grainy. I plan to blend it before sending the card. The fun sentiment on the inside of the card that comes with the Millicent stamp is "At my age, 'getting lucky' means finding my car in the parking lot."

Wine Run Still Counts

The running season is over and the tri season hasn't started yet so I'm happy stamping. I had to postpone my marathon this year due to an injury and illness earlier in the season so I actually did nothing a good part of the winter. It's still ok to go to an end of the season party, right? I got some hilarious Funny Bones stamps from Riley and this one seemed especially appropriate for a thank you card for my coach.

I used the My Favorite Things sketch MFTWSC112 and made this quick, almost CAS, card. The humorous Riley sentiment is for the Riley Blog challenge. I didn't have a wine related image stamp to go along with it, but the wine bottle die cut worked well.  Here's another view with the envelope.

By the way, does anyone have recommendations on a wine glass stamp? I'm looking for one at least 1.5" or larger to go with all the wine related sentiments I bought. Hmm, if someone saw the number of caffeine and alcohol related stamps I own, they might think I have a problem....

Quick Post with Bella Sketch Card

Another weekend flew by, but I got a lot done - worked in the garden, ran, spent time with friends and even made a couple of cards. Here's one for Bellariffic Friday challenge. The sentiment makes me smile every time I see it.

Riley Golf

The Riley challenge this week was to create a masculine card. I've made my first tri fold card and it came together very quickly except for the handwritten the sentiment. I found some funny golf sayings on the web and instead of printing them out I wanted to work on my handwriting skills. The truth is I really don't like my handwriting and since nowadays I primarily type it hasn't gotten better, but it's something I want to work on. I'm in awe when someone has such a pretty handwriting that they can sign their cards without relying on stamps.

The top is the open view of the card and the bottom is the closed version. I know, I still need a lot of practice, but hopefully the humor makes up for the crooked handwriting.

I'm Back...

My poor little blog has been abandoned. Life took over and after a while the longer I waited, the more I felt like my returning post had to be really spectacular, deserving of fireworks and a welcome parade. It was a perpetual cycle and I stayed quiet.

Well, I'm giving it another go. No fireworks, but picking up where I left off with the occasional projects and see if it's something I want to continue dedicating time to. Kicking things off on a light note. Isn't this stamp a hoot? It reads "Listen Honey - The dress is by Ralph Lauren... The body is by chocolate chip!" It also seems appropriate around the holidays :)
